Version 2.05 (Build 1)
=======================
VisionHunt is visual aid software that identifies light sources, dominant colors
on objects, the light level of the surrounding environment and euro notes.
It is intended to be used by visually impaired users and runs on Nokia Series 60
3rd Edition Smart Phones.
Please refer to user_quide.txt for instructions on how
to use this software.
Please visit our VI Scientific's Website at http://www.viscientific.com
for more information including upgrading from the trial to the full
version as well as a list of FAQs.
Supported Languages
=======================
VisionHunt is released in the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian,
Swedish, Polish, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Greek, Turkish and Hebrew.
We are currently working into adding more languages.
Phone Compatibility
=======================
VisionHunt has been successfully tested on Nokia N81, N82, N95, N95 8GB, N96,
6220 Classic, 6210 Navigator, 6730 Classic, E51, E66 and E71. It may also run on other Nokia Series 60 3rd Edition phones that are equipped with a digital camera.
The prior phone list will be augmented as soon as VisionHunt is successfully tested
on other compatible phones. Also visit http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/matrix_s60_3ed_1.html for a complete listing
of compatible phones.
Compatibility with Screen Reading Software
=======================
VisionHunt has been tested with various screen reading software for Nokia
S60 3rd Edition phones. Our tests have shown compatibility with Nuance's Talks
and Code Factory's Mobile Speak. Various compatibility issues have been reported
when using the Greek Speech synthesizers that may lead the phone to shut down
unexpectedly. We are working toward resolving these issues.
Performance Issues
=======================
Since visually impaired users often use accessibility software such as
screen readers and magnifiers, we recommend the use of mobile phones
with increased processing capabilities such as the Nokia N95, N95 8GB, N96,
E51, E66 and E71.
Camera Issues
=======================
Newer mobile phones have better cameras that return brighter images, especially the ones
with a Carl Zeiss lens such as the N95 model. On the other hand the cameras of older mobile
phones return darker images such as the E51 model.
When the phone has a very good camera, then the white sensitivity should be set to a smaller
value (e.g., 1). On the other hand, if the phone has an old camera, then the white sensitivity should be
set to a higher value (e.g., 4).
The user can make sure that the optimal value is set by testing the recognition of white and grey
colors in moderate lighting conditions. When a higher value than the optimal is set the color recognizer
tends to return white when the color is grey. When a lower value than the optimal is set then color
recognizer tends to return grey when the color is white.
Adjust the phone's camera white sensitivity from the preferences menu in order to enable correct
white recognition. Value 1 means minimum sensitivity and Value 4 means maximum sensitivity.
Trial Period
=======================
Before upgrading to the full version, the user may run VisionHunt for 100 times
or until the first day of the next upcoming July or January arrives.
By uninstalling and installing the software anew, the user would
not be able to extend the stated trial period. The user may then purchase a
serial number (token/activation code) from http://www.viscientific.com that unlocks the
capabilities of the software.
Upgrades and patches
=======================
Version 2.2 fixes many bugs from 2.1.
Should a bug or other related issue emerge, an upgrade patch would
immediately be available for download at no cost. Please send your comments
and bug reports to support@viscientific.com.
Back-up Issues
=======================
VisionHunt can be backed-up and restored, through the backup-restore utility
provided with the phone. However, any installed license key will not be backed up.
In this case, you are required to re-enter your license key again.
Release Focus:
=======================
The focus of this initial release aims at introducing the software
as well as providing the stated functionality. Future releases and upgrades
would address bug issues, augmented functionality, performance issues etc.
KNOWN ISSUES
=======================
Upon launching the software, please allow for at least 2 seconds for camera to be
available. Should the phone be left in inactivity for 1 minute, the software shuts
down itself to conserve phone battery.
Thank you! Please send your comments at support@viscientific.com
