About VI Scientific

 

VI Scientific Ltd was in founded 2008 in Nicosia, Cyprus, by computer scientists that are aware of the difficulties blind and visually impaired people face in their every day activities. Our goal is to address these difficulties by providing an array of easy to use tools. Our mission is to become a pioneer in developing software-based and mobile phone-based solutions for the blind and the visually impaired.

VI Scientific Ltd was awarded 2 prestigious entrepreneurship awards in 2007 for its innovative ideas and their potential impact. The awards include a 3rd place at the 2007 Cyprus Entrepreneurship competition. Since then, we are committed into making our ideas a reality.

In April 2009, we have released VisionHunt™ v1.0 (Build 1), our first of many products to come in the upcoming months. VisionHunt™ is a simple yet powerful tool that identifies colors on objects, light sources, euro notes and the light level of the surrounding environment. Upcoming products will address other aspects of everyday activities of the blind and the visually impaired. Diogenes Business Incubator University of Cyprus is a value adding partner and shareholder in VI Scientific Ltd. Their involvement has made the initialization of the company a reality as their support has facilitated the first financing of our company through the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Tourism of the Republic of Cyprus. We work together with Diogenes to implement our award winning business plan (Cyprus Entrepreneurship Competition 2007) and realize our mission of becoming a world wide leader in providing software for the blind and the visually impaired.
